Huayxai - Pakbeng / Discovery and sightseeing (-)

Arrival in Huayxai,
where you will be met by our tour guide and driver. Transfer by private boat to embarkation on the Mekong River towards Pakbeng.

Along the way, we can stop to observe rural life along the Mekong and visit the ethnic groups . Afterwards, we will have a buffet dinner on board.

Arrival in Pakbeng before sunset and check-in at the hotel.

Pakbeng / Excursions - Pak Ou Cave / Sightseeing - Luang Prabang / Sightseeing (F,M)

Full breakfast at the hotel
( optional: walk through the Pakbeng market, where minority groups trade their goods ). We board at 8:30 am.

A brief stop to explore a Hmong village before enjoying a buffet lunch on board. We then continue to the village of Pak-Ou at the mouth of the Nam Ou River and afterwards visit the Pak Ou Cave, also known as the "Cave of a Thousand Buddhas".

On the way to Luang Prabang, we stop to observe the production of the local rice wine.

Luang Prabang / Sightseeing, walks and discovery of the World Heritage city (F,M)

After breakfast,
we meet at 8:00 am and visit the Royal Palace Museum , which houses a number of interesting artifacts. We begin our tour of the most beautiful temples on foot.

Depending on the rest of the itinerary, this may include Wat Visoun and Wat Sene , the oldest temples in Luang Prabang . The magnificent Wat Xiengthong, with its roofs reaching all the way to the ground, represents the classic architecture of Luang Prabang.

We will stop at the Kinnaly Gallery , where your tour guide will introduce you to the various minority groups living in Laos.

In the afternoon we will stop in Yensabai , where you can see traditional Laotian stencils made from Saa paper as well as Wat Mai .

Afterwards, climb Phousi Hill for a pleasant exploration of the sacred, golden stupa and a beautiful view of the sunset over the city and the Mekong River . In the evening , stroll through the night market , where visitors can buy various snacks and appetizers or haggle for mountain clothing and other wooden sculptures.

Luang Prabang – Kouang Si Waterfalls / Sightseeing - Luang Prabang / Sightseeing (F,M)

After breakfast,
meeting at 8:00 am, we will visit the local market of Phousi , a place frequented by all locals, where you will discover the various goods.

We stop in Ock Pop Tock , a silk weaving center. Here, your guide will give you a tour and explain the silk weaving process.

Anschließend fahren wir nach Ban Thinkeo, einem Hmong-Dorf, und wandern mit den Dorfbewohnern. Ihr Reiseleiter erklärt Ihnen die Verwendung von Pflanzen durch die Hmongs. Sie gehen in den Garten, um mit den Dorfbewohnern Gemüse und Kräuter zu schneiden. Wenn Sie im Dorf ankommen, lernen Sie, einige lokale Gerichte in einem traditionellen Haus zu kochen.

Empfang durch das Team und Sie werden im Hotel untergebracht.
Mittagessen in einem lokalen Restaurant und wir erkunden die Hauptstadt Vientiane, um die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Hauptstadt zu besuchen. Wir besuchen den ältesten Wat Sisaket mit Tausenden von Miniatur-Buddha-Statuen und den alten königlichen Tempel Wat Prakeo, der das berühmte Bild des Smaragd-Buddha beherbergte. Vientiane und Flug nach Pakse / Kreuzfahrt und Besichtigungen in der Gegend von Wat Phu mit einer Übernachtung an Bord einer Dschunke (F,M,A)

Sie verlassen Vientiane früh um 6:30 Uhr für Ihren Flug nach Pakse.

Bei Ihrer Ankunft werden Sie empfangen und zur Wat Phou Kreuzfahrt gebracht, die Pakse um 10:00 Uhr in Richtung Champassak verlässt.

We travel south and reach Champasak for lunch on the banks of the Mekong, followed by a guided tour of the mysterious 10th-century pre-Angkorian temple Wat Phou , which gave its name to the boat.

As darkness falls, we board the Wat Phou cruise to relax and enjoy the tropical sunset.

Dinner will be served on board the cruise, and the cruise will stop for the night on the banks of the Mekong River in a nearby village. Overnight stay on the Wat Phou cruise .

Wat Phou / Cruise and walks (F,M,A)

After breakfast,
we set course for the village of Huei Thamo , just a short walk away, to reach the ancient temple of Oum Moung, hidden in a forest . We return to the cruise ship and head south, where we have lunch on deck, before continuing our journey south to the wild paradise of the 4,000 Islands region .

In the afternoon we reach Ban Dua Tae , a traditional village where the way of life has not changed for centuries.

We will observe life in the traditional village and study the daily activities.
Tonight, we will enjoy a quiet dinner on board under the stars, lulled by the whistling of toads. Overnight stay in Wat Phou .

Wat Phou - Pakse / Sightseeing (F,M)

Today we will have breakfast on the upper deck and travel to the small village of Ban Veuthong , where we will transfer to a longtail boat that will take us to Khong Island , the largest island in the 4000 Islands region .

After visiting the island, we return to the boat and go ashore to have lunch amidst the magnificent remains of another era, visiting the colorful French colonial houses and an old customs house near a stone dock.

You will be taken by minibus to the spectacular Khone Phapeng Waterfall , the “Niagara of the East”, near the Cambodian border.

We return to Pakse , which is a two-hour drive away by road, arriving in the afternoon.

Lunch included, dinner at your leisure, and overnight stay in Pakse.
