Luang Prabang Arrival (A)

Arrival at Luang Prabang airport , meeting by our tour guide and driver and transfer to the hotel.

Luang Prabang was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. It has become a world-renowned tourist destination, famous for its 32 temples, which were built during the time of the French colonialists.

Welcome dinner at a local restaurant . Overnight stay in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang – City tour (F/M)

Breakfast at the hotel .

City tour to discover the various temples : Vat Visoun , Wat Sene , Wat Mai , Wat Aham and the former Royal Palace , which has been converted into a National Museum, where we can admire the Prabang statue, the insignia of royal power and other valuables as well as mementos from the old regime.

Then a visit to the weavers' villages in Ban Xang Khong and Ban Xieng Lek .

In the afternoon, climb the 328 steps of Mount Phousi with a magnificent panoramic view over the city and the Mekong Valley.

In the evening, take a stroll through the night market , where visitors can buy various snacks and appetizers or haggle for mountain clothing or wooden sculptures.

Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves and Kouangsi Waterfalls (F/M)

Option: Get up early to see the long lines of monks emerging from their pagodas to receive food offerings from the faithful. A unique spectacle in the country.

Breakfast at the hotel .

Visit the beautiful Wat Xieng Thong temple , the most beautiful temple in the city, then depart for a boat trip on the Mekong to the sacred cave of Pak Ou , which houses hundreds of gilded wooden Buddha statues.

On the way back, continue the tour to the famous Kuang Si Waterfalls (35 km).

Then a visit to the villages of ethnic minorities : Ban Na Ouane (Hmong), Ban Ou (Lao Loum) and Ban Thapene (Khmu) .

On the way back we visit the weavers' village of Ban Phnom , known for its beautiful silk weavings, and the tomb of Henri Muhot , the first French explorer, and enjoy the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath Tai.

Luang Prabang – Vang Vieng (B/L)

After breakfast today we will take National Route 13 North , which leads through mountain slopes, valleys and rivers.

Along the entire route we can observe the beautiful landscape of Laos : traditional villages, rocky mountains mixed with limestone cliffs of all shapes.

Stops in Ban (Hmong) KiowPacham , at the intersection of Sala Khoukhoune , the town of Kasi and the famous village of Ban Pha Tang .

Ankunft in Van Vieng am Nachmittag, Check-in im Hotel am Ufer des Flusses Nam Song. Anschließend Besuch der Stadt und der Tham Chang Höhle.

Mittagessen in einem lokalen Restaurant. Abendessen zur freien Verfügung und Übernachtung im Hotel in Vang Vieng.

Vang Vieng – Vientiane – Stadtbesichtigung (F/M)

Nach dem Frühstück, morgendlicher Besuch in Vang Vieng, um die wunderschöne Naturkulisse zu genießen und einige Spaziergänge zu unternehmen oder den lokalen Markt zu erkunden.

Anschließend Transfer nach Vientiane, der Hauptstadt von Laos.

Ankunft und schneller Check-in im Hotel.

Besuch der Hauptstadt von Laos: der Wat Phra Keo Tempel, der den Smaragd-Buddha beherbergte, bevor er 1779 von den Siamesen nach Bangkok gebracht wurde, der schöne Holztempel Wat Si Saket, der älteste der Stadt, und der vergoldete Reliquienschrein von That Luang.

Mittagessen in einem lokalen Restaurant. Abendessen zur freien Verfügung und Übernachtung in Vientiane.

Vientiane – Pakse – Bolovens Plateau (F/M/A)

Frühes Aufstehen und Transfer zum Flughafen von Vientiane für den Flug nach Pakse. Empfang und Transfer nach Tad Lo (120 km), im äußersten Nordosten des Bolovens Plateaus gelegen, reich an Kulturen wie Tee, Kaffee, Kardamom, Gemüse und Obst.

Auf dem Plateau können wir auch die Dörfer ethnischer Minderheiten besuchen: Alak, Lawe, Katu, Ya Heune… und eine schöne Öko-Tourismus-Stätte in Pha Xuam.

Ankunft in Tad Lo, Check-in in einem Bungalow, am Ufer des Sexet Flusses im Wald gelegen.

Mittagessen und Abendessen in einem lokalen Restaurant. Übernachtung in der Tad Lo Lodge.

Bolovens Plateau (Tad Lo) – Wat Phou – Khong Insel (F/M/A)

Nach dem Frühstück im Hotel, Fahrt in die Provinz Champassak, berühmt für die prä-angkorianische Stätte Wat Phou.

Während der Fahrt Besuch der Stadt Paksong: das Kaffee-Exportzentrum, der wunderschöne Tad Fan Wasserfall und die Werkstatt für traditionelle Teeproduktion am km 32.

Der nächste Besuch ist das Wat Phou Gebäude, das zwischen dem 9. und 13. Jahrhundert erbaut wurde, also vor der Errichtung des Angkor Wat Komplexes in Siem Reap. Wir werden auch das Museum des historischen Erbes von Champassak besuchen.

Am Nachmittag setzen wir unsere Fahrt fort in Richtung Insel Khong.

Khong Island – 4000 Islands Region (F/M/A)

Breakfast at the hotel .

Departure for a local boat trip in the widest section of the Mekong , where in the dry season almost 4000 islets and rocks appear, giving it the beautiful name “ Siphandon – four thousand islands ”.

During the journey, we will anchor at the peaceful island of Ban Khone to visit the remains of the French colonial era , the Liphi (Somphanith) waterfalls and the village of Ban Khone .

Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant . Overnight stay in Ban Khone.

Khone Island - Phou Asa - Pakse (B/L)

Breakfast at the hotel .

Return to the left bank of the Mekong in Ban Na Kasang , then depart to visit the famous Khone Phapheng Waterfalls , the most important on the Mekong, before returning by road towards Pakse.

Stop in the village of Ban Khiet Ngong for an elephant ride to the summit of Phou Asa , which is crowned by an ancient citadel.

From there you have a panoramic view over the Dong Houasao nature reserve and the Mekong Valley .

In the late afternoon, we return to Pakse by road . Transfer to the hotel, followed by a visit to the city and the central market (time permitting).

After breakfast, direct transfer to the airport for departure.
