Hanoi Arrival / Relaxation and Walks (A)

Arrival in Hanoi,
where you will be met by our local team of tour guide and driver for transfer to the city center for your first explorations or relaxation.

Stroll through Hanoi's Old Quarter, exploring the bustling streets of the Thirty-Six Guilds District. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant featuring Hanoi specialties. Overnight stay in Hanoi.

Hanoi / Discovery, sightseeing and city walks (F,M,A)

After breakfast,
meet at 8:00 am with the tour guide for a day of sightseeing at the city's most important monuments and taking photos in Hanoi.

We begin the tours:

The Temple of Literature is dedicated to Confucius and his disciples. This complex was the first Vietnamese university.

The Tran Quoc Pagoda (Buddhism) , which means "Pagoda of National Defense", is located on a beautiful peninsula in Ho Tay Lake (West Lake), undoubtedly the most beautiful lake among the lakes in Hanoi.

The Quan Thanh Temple (Taoism) , dedicated to the spirit of Tran Vu – an important protector of the ancient Citadel of Hanoi.

These three central monuments will help you better understand the three dominant religions in Vietnam.

Lunch during the sightseeing.

In the afternoon, photos were taken in front of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum , which dominates Ba Dinh Square, for the changing of the guard – the essence of political life.

And then a visit to Ho Chi Minh's stilt house to better understand the life of a great man whose life was very modest.

And then a visit to the One Pillar Pagoda , famous for its original construction, which dates back to an 11th-century legend.

Towards the end of the day, take a nice walk to the Long Bien Bridge (or, in French times, the Paul Doumer Bridge) and have a look at the "train street" .

Hanoi / Sightseeing - Duong Lam village in the suburbs and overnight train to Lao Cai (F,M,A)

After breakfast,
meet at 7:30 am for departure to visit the Ethnographic Museum of Vietnam .

On the way to the village of Duong Lam , an old laterite village, and a bicycle tour through the surrounding villages .

Visit to the Mia Pagoda. Lunch with locals in an old house in Duong Lam.
Return to Hanoi for a light dinner and transfer to the train station for the overnight train.

Train SP3, departure at 10:00 PM / Private compartment with 4 beds / Soft berth in 1st class.

Lao Cai Arrival – Sapa / Walks and discovery of ethnic villages and beautiful rice terraces (B,L,D)

Early arrival in Lao Cai (around 6 a.m.),
welcome by the local team, followed by breakfast at a local restaurant near the train station. Afterwards, transfer to Sapa: This is a beautiful walk through the valley with charming villages and rice terraces.
Lunch with locals, followed by a walk to the other villages .

Return to Sapa by car. Relaxation and free time.
Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight stay in Sapa.

Sapa - Coc Ly Market - Lao Cai for night train to Hanoi (F,M,A)

In the morning, after breakfast,
meet at 7:00 am for departure to visit the weekly market of Coc Ly (the small ethnic festival), which takes place every Tuesday morning, 110 km from Sapa.

Visit the market and take a walk along the Chay River , if the water level, which is determined by the dam, allows it.

Return trip to Lao Cai with sightseeing along the road: the border gate and the tea hills .

Transfer to the train station for dinner at a local restaurant. Train/sleeper compartment with 4 beds.

Hanoi Arrival - Mai Chau Valley / Walks and Sightseeing (B,L,D)

Arrival in Hanoi,
meeting by the driver and then drive to Mai Chau with stops for breakfast and sightseeing and photos along the way.

Visit to the ethnic village of Muong in Giang Mo.

Arrival in Mai Chau, walk through the preserved villages (Ban Lac2, then Ban Nhot and Ban Van). Meal and overnight stay with a White Thai family.

Mai Chau - Ninh Binh / Sightseeing and Discoveries (F,M,A)

After breakfast,
we drive to Ninh Binh (220 km or a 4.5-hour drive) through beautiful landscapes. We take the opportunity to visit the temples dedicated to the kings of the Dinh and Le dynasties. Lunch is at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we enjoy a sampan ride in the Thung Nham area , visiting the Thien Ha Cave (not too crowded with tourists), gliding beneath the longest cave in the limestone mountain.

At the end of the sampan ride, a bicycle tour around the village of Bich Dong with a visit to the Bich Dong Pagoda and the Thai Vi Temple.

Dinner and overnight stay in Ninh Binh.

Ninh Binh - Halong Bay / Cruise and Discovery (F,M,A)

Breakfast at the hotel,
meeting at 8:00 am for the drive to Halong Bay via the Red River Delta.

Arrival in Halong Bay around 12:30 pm and embarkation on the shared junk / private cabin for the 24-hour cruise in Lan Ha Bay and the two other bays (you will follow the ship's program for activities).

Meals (lunch and dinner) on board. Visits to the caves during the cruise .

Halong Bay / Cruise – Hanoi and night train to Hue (F, M)

Breakfast on board and continuation of the cruise and walks , brunch around 11 am and disembarkation around 11:30 am.

Return trip to Hanoi with sightseeing stops along the way and arrival in Hanoi. Free time in the Old Quarter before dinner at a restaurant.

Transfer to the train station for the night train to Hue / sleeper train / 4-berth cabin.

Overnight stay on the train.

Hue Arrival / Sightseeing Day (F, M)

Picnic breakfast on board.
Arrival in Hue around 9:00 am, welcome by the French-speaking tour guide and driver, then direct transfer to the sightseeing and discoveries: visit to the Imperial City , the Dong Ba Market .

Lunch at a local restaurant featuring specialties from Hue.

In the afternoon, a one-hour boat trip on the Perfume River to visit the Pagoda of the Heavenly Lady , discover the distinctive tomb of Ming Mang , and afterwards a walk through the village of incense stick and conical hat making . Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight stay in Hue.

Hue – Hai Van Pass – Hoi An / Sightseeing and walks (F, M)

Breakfast. Meeting point at 8:30 am with the tour guide and driver to take
the road towards Hoi An via the famous Cloud Pass and the city of Da Nang.

Photo stop at the summit of the pass for photos of the East Sea and the coast of Danang.

Arrival in Hoi An, lunch in a local restaurant with specialties from Hoi An.

In the afternoon, sightseeing and exploration of Hoi An : a visit to a silkworm farm and then the historic city center : Japanese Bridge, House of the Chinese Congregation, Folklore Museum, Tan Ky's traditional old house, and the fish market.
Dinner at leisure and overnight stay in Hoi An.

Hoi An / Walks in the suburbs and free beach (F, M)

After breakfast,
meet your guide at 8:30 am for a half-day of activities : a bicycle tour through the Hoi An countryside , a boat trip in a traditional basket boat, fishing, relaxation with an herbal foot massage, a cooking class, and lunch with locals.
Return to Hoi An town for free time and/or the beach.
Dinner is at your leisure, and overnight stay in Hoi An.

Hoi An – Danang and flight to Saigon (F, M)

After breakfast,
meet the driver (without a tour guide) at 8:00 am for the transfer to Da Nang Airport for the flight to Saigon.

Arrival in Saigon, reception by the local tour guide and driver team, then transfer to the city for lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon,
visit two districts : Chinatown and the Pagoda of the Heavenly Lady (Chua Thien Hau), and the Binh Tay Wholesale Market , the Vietnamese Quarter, with an opportunity for selfies in front of the Independence Palace.
Afterwards, visit Notre Dame Cathedral , the Central Post Office , stroll along Rue d'Ex Catinat, the Opera House, and the City Hall .
Dinner is at your leisure in Saigon.

Saigon – Mekong / Excursion and sightseeing – Can Tho (F, M)

After breakfast,
meeting point at 8:00 am for the drive to Cai Be (170 km or 2h30 drive), sightseeing stop at the Caodaist Temple .

Arrival in Cai Be, embarkation on a private sampan for an excursion into the arroyos of the Mekong with visits to local workshops: rice cakes, caramel sweets, rice wine, puffed rice, etc. Lunch with locals.

The journey continues towards Vinh Long , followed by disembarkation in Vinh Long city and transfer to Can Tho. Direct transfer to the hotel.

Dinner at your leisure and overnight stay in Can Tho.

Can Tho / Cai Rang Floating Market and Sightseeing – Saigon (F, M)

In the morning, departure around 7:00 am to visit the authentic Cai Rang market by private sampan.
Breakfast at the hotel.

Continuing our journey to Mr. Ba Cong's ecological garden to see the exotic fruits , which we will taste on site...

Visit to the local market of An Binh and then return to Saigon with a lunch break along the way.

Arrival in Saigon,
direct transfer to the hotel for rest and leisure.

Dinner at your leisure and overnight stay in Saigon.

Saigon – Phan Thiet – Mui Ne free beach (B)

After breakfast,
meet the driver (without a tour guide) who will take you to Phan Thiet if you wish to extend your trip to Mui Ne beach .

Or he can drive you to the airport for your return flight.
