After breakfast, explore Ho Chi Minh City , the country's economic center: Cochinchina, with its numerous restaurants and upscale boutiques. Begin your tour with the Reunification Palace , one of the city's most important buildings, the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until April 30, 1975, the end of the war against the United States.

The War Remnants Museum , formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, houses a gallery called "Requiem" dedicated to Vietnamese people photographed by foreign journalists during the conflict. The exhibit also displays old bombs, tanks, and rusted cannons belonging to the American army.

In the afternoon you will visit Notre Dame Cathedral and the old General Post Office (built between 1877 and 1883, one of the finest examples of French colonial architecture). Every stone used in its construction was imported from France.
