Luang Prabang Arrival (A)
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Luang Prabang has been recognized by UNESCO as "the best-preserved city in Southeast Asia." The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang – City tour – Pak Ou Cave (F/M)
After breakfast we enjoy a guided tour .
We will visit the Royal Palace Museum , which houses a number of interesting objects. Then we will visit the beautiful Wat Xiengthong with its ground-level roofs, representing classical Laotian architecture.
Afterwards, we will take a river cruise on the Mekong, which offers us a panoramic view of the peaceful landscape.
Our first stop is the village of Ban Muangkeo , where we will begin a short journey to the mysterious Pak Ou Cave , two interconnected caves where thousands of gold-lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes have been left by pilgrims.
On the way, we stop in the village of Ban Xanghai , where rice wine is the local specialty. Along the way, we visit Ban Xangkhong , Ban Xienglek , and Ban Nong Xai , small villages known for silk weaving and the production of jute (saa) for papermaking.
On the way back to Luang Prabang, we visit a traditional goldsmith's workshop .
Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at your leisure and overnight stay in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang – Hmong Experience and Kouang Si Waterfall (F/M)
After breakfast, we will visit the local market in Phousi , where all the locals buy their groceries. Your guide will show you the various products on offer.
We'll stop at Ock Pop Tock , a silk weaving center. During the tour, the silk weaving process will be explained to you.
Then we drive to Thinkeo , a Hmong village , and begin a hike with the villagers.
Your guide will explain how the facilities are shared with the Hmong people. You will go into the garden and cut vegetables and herbs with the locals.
Upon arrival in the village, you will learn to cook some local dishes in a traditional house. Lunch will be the result of your combined efforts!
The villagers will then give you a Hmong Khène demonstration and local games .
In the afternoon we drive to Kouang Si and relax at this beautiful multi-tiered waterfall.
Then, at the end of the day, we return to Luang Prabang by land.
Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at your leisure and overnight stay in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang – Xiengkhouang (B/L/D)
Today, after breakfast, we will drive through the beautiful landscapes of Xiengkhouang . The trip offers many opportunities for taking photos and visiting hill tribe villages . The region is famous for the Plain of Jars and its diverse ethnic groups, including the Hmong.
Upon arrival, you will be taken to visit Site 1 of the Plain of Jars , an impressive archaeological site where hundreds of stone jars are scattered across the plateau.
Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Xiengkhouang.

Xiengkhouang – Plain of Jars and Muang Khoun (F/M/A)
This morning, after breakfast, we will have time to visit the interesting central market of Phonsavan , the MAG exhibition and Site 2 of the Plain of Jars , before taking a short scenic walk from Site 3 through the villages of Tai Dam and Lao Leum .
After lunch, we have half a day to visit the old capital Muang Khoun and the surrounding villages, home to the Hmong and Tai Dam hill tribes .
Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Xiengkhouang.

Xiengkhouang – Sam Neua (B/L/D)
Today, after breakfast, the long journey begins early along bumpy roads. The trip is punctuated by stops in nearby Hmong villages, offering breathtaking views of the landscape.
We also have time to visit Hintang . Here we see mysterious menhirs. Nobody is sure who built them or why; perhaps they are sites or markers of some kind.
We will arrive in Sam Neua in the early evening . Lunch and dinner will be at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Sam Neua.

Sam Neua - Viengxai (F/M/A)
Today, after breakfast, we will visit a number of local weaving villages , then we will continue on to the famous Viengxai Cave .
The leaders of the Pathet Lao lived here during the “ Secret War ”.
After exploring the numerous caves, we return to our accommodation in Sam Neua for the night.
Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Sam Neua.

Sam Neua – Nameo border crossing to Vietnam (F)
This morning after breakfast we will drive to the Vietnamese border crossing Nameo, where our tour ends.
