Hanoi arrival - walks/rest (D)
Arrival at Hanoi airport, welcome by our guide who will take you directly to the city center for your first visits to the capital.
Depending on your arrival time, you will visit different sites or take a walk in the Old Quarter of Hanoi to see the daily life of Hanoians up close and take photos of the always-moving life of this famous district. Transfer and check-in at the hotel. Free time for rest or personal discoveries.
Welcome dinner and overnight in Hanoi.

Hanoi – City tour (B/L/D)
After breakfast, the day is dedicated to visits and walks in Hanoi:
You will start with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex which dominates Ba Dinh Square, and his stilt house to better understand the life of a great man whose life was very modest.
Just behind, you will discover the One Pillar Pagoda, famous for its original construction linked to a legend dating back to the 11th century.
Then visit the Temple of Literature dedicated to Confucius and his disciples. The first Vietnamese university, it bears witness to Vietnam's feudal education.
In the afternoon, a tour of the Museum of Ethnology will give you a comprehensive overview of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. How can you resist a cyclo-pousse ride in the Old Quarter and its small shopping streets?
At the end of the day, you will finish your discoveries with the Jade Temple which sits in the middle of the Lake of the Restored Sword.
In the evening, you will attend the water puppet show, a typical folk art created by a monk.
Dinner at a local restaurant before transfer to the station for the night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on the train.

Lao Cai – Bac Ha – Ta Van Chu (B/L/D) – 4h walk
Arrival in Lao Cai, after breakfast at a local restaurant, welcome by the driver to take you to Bac Ha.
Approximately 2 hours of driving are needed to reach the destination. And then transfer to the ethnic market (the fair takes place once a week) and depending on the day of the week you arrive, visit: either Bien Phiet on Monday morning, or Coc Ly on Tuesday morning, or Lung Khau Nhin on Wednesday morning, or Cao Son on Thursday morning, or Cho Dau on Friday morning, or Can Cau on Saturday morning or Bac Ha on Sunday morning.
Visit the very colorful and lively market and lunch at a local restaurant.
Departure in the early afternoon for a leisurely walk to the village of Ta Van Chu.
Except for Sunday, you will participate in a more substantial walk during which you will meet the Flower Hmong and the Tay people.
Dinner and overnight in a guesthouse run by a local family

Ta Van Chu – Thai Giang Pho – Ngai Phong Tro (B/L/D) ~ 5 – 6h walk
After breakfast, the hike continues amidst the terraced rice fields.
Picnic lunch en route then, in the afternoon, you will continue on winding paths that will take you through different valleys.
Dinner and overnight at a homestay.

Thai Giang Pho – Nalo (B/L/D) ~ 5 – 6h walk
After saying goodbye to your hosts, depart for a long and magnificent day, still amidst the rice fields. Discover the different cultures of the region.
Picnic lunch and continuation of the walk on small paths leading to the bottom of a valley where the Tay people live, one of their particularities being to build their houses on stilts. Dinner and overnight at a homestay.

Nalo – Trung Do – Boat on the Chay River – Lao Cai – Night train to Hanoi (B/L/D) ~ 4h-5h walk
After your breakfast, you will set off for a beautiful walk amidst the mountains. Outdoor picnic lunch.
In the afternoon, you will embark on a cruise on the Chay River.
After approximately 1h30 by boat, you will disembark on dry land.
A car will be there to take you back to Lao Cai. En route, visit green tea hills and also a small detour to take a look at the Sino-Vietnamese border. Dinner at a restaurant and overnight on the train.

Hanoi - Hon Gai – Bai Tu Long – Thien Canh Son - Cong Do (B/L/D)
07.45: Departure for Halong City - the eighth wonder of the world with its limestone islets spread over an area of 1500 km2.
12.00 – 12.15: Arrival at Hon Gai (Vinashin) pier. A short rest at Phu Dong restaurant while waiting to board the junk.
12.30: Boarding the junk.
12.45 – 13.30: Welcome cocktail and a briefing on the itinerary by the junk guide. Check-in to the room.
13.30 – 14.30: You have lunch on board the junk while it crosses magnificent natural landscapes.
15.00: The cruise continues to the hidden cave of Thien Canh Son in Bai Tu Long Bay, the cave is also called Co Cave. Time to relax, walk along the beach or take photos at Hon Co Island.
16.00: Return to the junk. You enjoy a cup of tea before doing water activities: you go swimming or kayaking.
18.00 – 19.00: A small cooking class – the junk's chef teaches you how to make Nem ("spring rolls") and how to carve fruits and flowers for dish decoration. You admire the magnificent landscape of the bay at dusk...
19.30: Barbecue dinner is served on board the junk.
21:00: Relaxation time: movie, games, night fishing. Admire the charming beauty of Bai Tu Long Bay in the evening.

Continuation of the cruise - Hanoi – Departure from Ha Noi (B/L)
06.30: You wake up in the middle of the bay. Tai-chi class on the junk's sundeck.
07.00: Breakfast at the restaurant while admiring the sunrise over the bay.
07.45: Visit the floating village of Vung Vieng by bamboo sampan. Discovery of aquaculture.
09.00: Return to the junk.
09.30: You must check out of the room.
10.00-11.00: Lunch is served on board the junk.
11:30: Arrival at the pier. You say goodbye to the junk crew. Disembarkation.
12.30: Departure for Hanoi. Arrival in Hanoi in the late afternoon.
Transfer directly to the airport for your return flight.
