1 Hanoi – Thai Nguyen – Ba Be (L,D)

Meet at 08:00 with the team and we set off for Ba Be (The three lakes).

The Ba Be National Park is an oasis of calm and greenery.

After the 240 km journey from Hanoi along the road lined with tea plantations dotted with stilt houses, we arrive in the Tay (or Tho) region.

This region captivates us with its picturesque reservoir, waterfalls, rivers, valleys, and caves spread over an area of 500 ha.

Dinner and overnight stay with locals.

2 Cruise, visits and discovery of Ba Be Lake (B,L,D)

Meet at 08:00 and we enjoy a large national reserve where over 417 species of plants, 299 mammal breeds, 11 bird species are protected…

We take a boat cruise on the lake to the Dau Dang waterfalls. On the way back, our boat accesses a large cave (Puong Cave), home to thousands of bats that greet us with their special cry.

Lunch is prepared by the lake in a small Tay hut.

Ba Be is also the land of the H'mong and the Red Yao. In the afternoon, we will visit them in their homes. These ethnic groups have maintained an autarkic way of life and preserve ancestral rhythms of life.

Overnight stay with the Tays in their stilt house, dinner is prepared by the women.

3 Ba Be - Cao Bang / visits and discovery of the historical sites of Pac Bo (B,L)

After breakfast with the Tays,
we set off for Cao Bang.

The beautiful road leads us to Gio Pass (the Wind). A stop at the summit offers breathtaking views.
Along our way, we meet the Thos (Tays) and the Yao Tien (Silver Yao)... The women walk to the market, they are smiling and ask us: "Where do you come from?" "Is our country beautiful?".

Arrival in Cao Bang around noon.
After lunch, we continue our excursion to Pac Bo, a border region with China with a very complex relief of karst peaks and vegetation. This area was Ho Chi Minh's first refuge in 1941, after 30 years abroad, and also the first Viet Minh military base during the Indochina War.

Free dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Cao Bang.

4 Cao Bang / visit to Ban Gioc waterfall and overnight stay (B,L)

Breakfast
Meet at 08:00 and we take an excursion to the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam, Ban Gioc.
To do this, we will have to cross the Ma Phuc Pass (the kneeling horse), a magnificent pass that imprints the beauty of the Northeast in our memory. In the middle of the water, there is a limestone prominence covered with trees, which divides the current into three, thus creating a superb view and pleasantly refreshing the atmosphere.
Visit to Ban Gioc waterfall
Visit and stroll around the area with the holed mountain
Visit to ethnic villages along the road, Phuc Sen for drilling and Phia Thap for incense sticks
Visit to Truc Lam Pagoda

At the foot of Ban Gioc waterfall flows a wide stream, transparent as a mirror.
China is on the other side of the waterfall.

5 Ban Gioc / visits - Dong Khe – That Khe / visits – Lang Son / visits (B,L)

Breakfast
Meet at 08:00 and depart for discoveries and visits in this area: the ethnic village of Khuoi Ky with its supposed stone houses, and a visit to Nguom Ngao Cave.

Continue the road to join RC4 (Colonial Road 4) towards That Khe and Dong Khe, which were well known for the French and Viet Minh military bases at the time.

The road is very beautiful with enchanting landscapes.
We pass through the Dong Khe basin, surrounded by karst peaks. Dong Khe and then That Khe, have been recorded in books dealing with the Indochina War as the bloodiest battlefields. The scattered blockhouses along the road are witnesses to the battles of the two troops.

In the late afternoon,
we arrive in Lang Son. The small border town has become the largest center for Chinese goods, smuggling flourished after 1988, and contributes to the city's prosperity.

6 Lang Son / visits - Hanoi (B,L)

Breakfast
Meet at 08:00 and you will visit Tam Thanh – Nhi Thanh Cave.

On the way back to Hanoi.
As you approach Hanoi, you will visit a beautiful Bo Da Pagoda, with an impressive stupa garden, which is unique in Vietnam for this pagoda.
