Memorable Mekong Laos Stroll

Huayxai - Pakbeng / discovery and visits (-)

Arrival in Huayxai,
welcome by our guide & driver. Transfer by private boat for embarkation on the Mekong towards Pakbeng.

En route, we can stop to observe rural life along the Mekong and visit the ethnic groups, then we will have a buffet lunch on board.

Arrival in Pakbeng before sunset and check-in at the hotel

Dinner at leisure and overnight in Pakbeng.

Pakbeng / excursions - Pak Ou Cave / visits - Luang Prabang / visits (B,L)

Full breakfast at the hotel
(optional: stroll through Pakbeng market, where minorities exchange their goods). At 08:30 we will embark.

A short stop to discover a Hmong village before a buffet lunch on board. We continue towards the village of Pak-Ou at the mouth of the Nam Ou river, then visit the Pak Ou cave "Cave of a thousand Buddhas".

On the way to Luang Prabang, stop to observe the making of local rice alcohol.

Arrival in Luang Prabang before sunset.

Dinner at leisure and overnight in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang / visits, walks and discovery of the heritage city (B,L)

After breakfast,
meet at 08:00 and we will visit the Royal Palace Museum which houses a series of interesting artifacts. We will begin our visit of the most beautiful temples on foot.

Depending on the rest of your program, this may include Wat Visoun, Wat Sene, the oldest temples of Luang Prabang. The magnificent Wat Xiengthong, with its roofs sweeping the ground representing the classic architecture of Luang Prabang.

We will stop at Kinnaly Gallery, where your guide will introduce you to the different minorities living in Laos.

In the afternoon, we will stop at Yensabai, where you can see traditional Lao stencils made with Saa paper as well as Wat Mai.

You will then climb Phousi hill for a pleasant exploration of the sacred and golden stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong river. For the evening, stroll around the night market where visitors can buy various snacks and appetizers or bargain for mountain clothing and other wood carvings.

Luang Prabang – Kouang Si Falls / visits - Luang Prabang / visits (B,L)

After breakfast,
meet at 08:00 we will visit the local Phousi market, a place frequented by all locals and you will discover the different goods.

We will stop at Ock Pop Tock, a silk weaving center. Here, your guide will give you a tour and explain the silk weaving process.

Then, we go to Ban Thinkeo, a Hmong village and we will hike with the villagers. Your guide will explain the use of plants by the Hmongs. You will go to the garden to cut vegetables and herbs with the villagers. When you arrive at the village, learn to cook some local dishes in a traditional house.

Lunch will be your collective efforts!

Then, the villagers will give you a Hmong Khène show with local games.

In the afternoon, head to Kouang Si and relax in this magnificent multi-tiered waterfall. Then, we return to Luang Prabang, at the end of the day.

Luang Prabang – Vientiane / visits (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Vientiane.
Or by TGV depending on the day and time of booking

Upon your arrival in Vientiane,
Welcome by the team and you will be settled in the hotel.
Lunch at a local restaurant and we explore the capital of Vientiane to visit the main tourist sites of the capital, we will visit the oldest Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the ancient royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. En route to the precious national heritage of Laos, the famous and sacred That Luang structure, you will have the opportunity to take some photos of the Patuxai Monument, which is also known as the Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane.

The last visit of the day will be the COPE exhibition center, which summarizes the aspect of Laos and the major problems that the population encountered every day during the bombing of the countryside during the Vietnamese war.

The rest of the day is free. Dinner at leisure. Overnight in Vientiane.

Vientiane and flight to Pakse / cruise and visits in the area of Wat Phu with an overnight on board a Junk (B,L,D)

Breakfast at the hotel.

You will leave Vientiane early at 6:30 for your flight to Pakse.

Upon your arrival you will be welcomed and transferred to the Wat Phou Cruise leaving Pakse for Champassak at 10:00.

We will head south, arriving in Champassak for lunch by the Mekong, followed by a guided tour of the mysterious pre-Angkorian temple of Wat Phou dating back to the 10th century, the namesake of the boat.

As night falls, we will board the Wat Phou cruise to relax, enjoying the tropical sunset.

Dinner is served on the cruise, and the cruise will stop for the night by the Mekong in a nearby village. Overnight on the Wat Phou cruise.

Wat Phou / cruise and walks (B,L,D)

After breakfast,
We set sail for the village of Huei Thamo, just a few minutes' walk to reach the ancient temple of Oum Moung which is hidden in a forest. We will rejoin the cruise heading south and have lunch on deck, then continue south towards the wild paradise of the 4,000 "islands" region.

In the afternoon, we will arrive at Ban Dua Tae, a traditional village where the way of life has not changed for centuries.

We will observe traditional village life and study daily activities within the village.
Tonight, we will have a quiet dinner on board, under the stars, lulled by the chirping of toads. Overnight in Wat Phou.

Wat Phou - Pakse / visits (B,L)

Today, we will have breakfast on the upper deck and sail to the small village of Ban Veuthong, where we will board a long-tail boat to Khong Island, the largest island in the 4000 Islands region.

After visiting the island, we will take the boat back and disembark for lunch amidst the splendid remains of another age, visiting the colorful French colonial houses and an old customs post, near a stone pier.

You will be transferred by minibus to the spectacular Khone Phapeng waterfall, "the Niagara of the East", near the Cambodian border.

We will return to Pakse, which is a two-hour road trip, arriving in the afternoon.

Lunch included and dinner at leisure and overnight in Pakse.
