1

Huayxai – Pakbeng (D)

Arrival in Huay Xai.

The Luang Say cruise departs from Huay Xai for embarkation on the Mekong in Pakbeng.

En route, we stop to observe rural life along the Mekong and visit the ethnic groups, then we will have a buffet lunch on board.

Arrival in Pakbeng before sunset and check-in at the hotel.

You then enjoy dinner on the terrace by the Mekong. Overnight in Pakbeng.

Pakbeng – Pak Ou Cave – Luang Prabang (B/L/D)

(Optional: walk to Pakbeng market, where minorities exchange their goods).

Full breakfast.

At 08:30 we will embark for a cruise.

A short stop to discover a Hmong village before the buffet on board.

Then, we will continue to the village of Pak Ou at the mouth of the Nam Ou River, then we will visit the Pak Ou Cave "Cave of a Thousand Buddhas".

On the way to Luang Prabang, a brief stop to observe the traditional making of local rice alcohol.

Arrival in Luang Prabang before sunset. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang - Visit (B/L)

In the morning, after breakfast, we will begin our walking tour of the most beautiful temples.

Depending on the rest of your program, we can include Wat Sene, the magnificent Wat Xiengthong, with its roofs sweeping the ground, typical of Luang Prabang's classical architecture, as well as Wat Mai.

We will stop at Kinnaly Gallery, where your guide will show you the ethnic groups living in Laos.

We will end the visit by climbing Mount Phousi, which offers a spectacular panoramic view of Luang Prabang and the Mekong.

Lunch in a local restaurant. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang – Kouangsi Falls (B/L)

After breakfast, we will visit the local Phousi market, the place where all the locals come and you will discover the different goods on display.

We will stop at Ock Pop Tock, a silk weaving center. The guided tour will explain its manufacturing process.

Then, we will go to Ban Thinkeo, a Hmong village and we will hike with the villagers. Your guide will explain the uses of plants by the Hmongs.

You will go to the garden to cut vegetables and herbs with the villagers.

When you arrive at the village, you will learn to cook some local dishes in a traditional house. Lunch will be your collective efforts!

Then, the villagers will show you a Hmong Khène show and local games.

In the afternoon, head to Kouang Si to relax at the magnificent multi-tiered waterfall.

Then we return to Luang Prabang, at the end of the day.

Dinner at leisure and overnight in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang – Xiengkhouang (B/L/D)

Today, after breakfast, we cross the beautiful landscapes of Xiengkhouang.

You can take some photos and visit the mountain tribe villages.

Upon arrival, we will visit Site 1 of the Plain of Jars, an impressive archaeological site where hundreds of stone jars are scattered across the plateau.

Lunch and Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in XiengKhouang.

Xiengkhouang – Plain of Jars and Muang Khoun (B/L/D)

This morning, after breakfast, we have time to visit the interesting Phonsavan central market and the MAG UXO information center which will show you the work of the deminers, before transferring to the 2nd site of the Plain of Jars.

Then we will walk to Site 3 via the Pathet Lao camp. We will then arrive at Ban Xieng Di to watch broom making and then we will walk to the 3rd jar site.

In the afternoon we will head to Muang Khoun, the ancient capital of the Phuan Kingdom where we can walk around the stupas and temples that remain.

We return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Lunch and dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in Muang Khoun.

Muang Khoun - Vang Vieng (B/L)

After breakfast, we will visit the Silk Farm mulberry trees, a Lao sericulture company specializing in the production of fair trade silk.

En route to Vang Vieng.

In the afternoon, we will arrive in Vang Vieng, a small peaceful town, nestled in a meander of the Nam Song River.

With its incredible landscape, calm water and limestone outcrops, the charm remains intact, despite recent developments following the advent of tourism.

Upon your arrival, we will take you to the hotel.

Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Vang Vieng.

Vang Vieng – Vientiane (B/L)

This morning, after breakfast, we have time for a short hike and to visit the impressive Tham Jang cave. We also enjoy a boat trip on the Nam Song river to admire the impressive karst landscapes.

This afternoon we will head south to the capital Vientiane.

En route, we will stop at the salt mines of Ban Kheun, to see how salt is made. We will arrive in Vientiane in the late afternoon where you have the rest of the day at leisure.

Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Vientiane.

Vientiane - City Tour (B/L)

After breakfast, your half-day tour allows you to explore the capital of Vientiane by visiting major monuments, including the oldest Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the ancient royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which housed the famous Emerald Buddha image.

En route to the precious national heritage of Laos, the famous sacred structure of That Luang, you will have the opportunity to take some photos of the Patuxai Monument, which is also known as the Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane.

The last visit of the day will be the COPE exhibition center, which summarizes the aspect of Laos and the major problems that the population faced every day during the bombing campaigns during the Vietnamese war.

The rest of the day is free. Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Vientiane.

Vientiane – Pakse - Tadlo (B/L/D)

This morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport early for your flight to Pakse.

Welcome upon your arrival in Pakse, then head east towards the Bolovens Plateau.

The Bolovens Plateau, which is located above the Mekong valley, is known for its cool temperature.

The region is famous for its many waterfalls, and we will visit the most beautiful: the Tad Fan waterfall. This waterfall is spectacular with its double cascades falling into a deep gorge surrounded by flourishing vegetation.

The journey on the plateau offers a refreshing break and allows you to observe the cultivation of coffee, tea, cardamom, bananas and other crops that can be seen en route.

This trip offers visitors the chance to venture off the beaten path and discover some lesser-known regions of Laos and also the wild beauty of the south.

In the afternoon, we will arrive at Tad Lo, another picturesque waterfall and home to many ethnic groups, including the Alak, ESN, and Katu.

Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Tadlo.

Tadlo – Pakse – Wat Phou – Khong Island (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we will head towards Khong Island.

On the way we will make a small detour to visit the Pha Suam waterfall and explore the Lao Teung ethnic villages.

We will continue the journey passing through the city of Pakse, crossing the Mekong by ferry to visit the fascinating pre-Angkorian ruin of Wat Phu. Wat Phu is one of Laos' UNESCO World Heritage sites recognized in 2001, this magnificent Khmer archaeological site dates from the 5th century, before the famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

We will continue our journey by car and then take the Don Khong ferry, the largest island in the Mekong region in the South known as 4000 Islands, one of the most spectacular areas in Laos.

Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight on Khong Island.

Khong Island – Khone Island – Don Daeng (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we will enjoy a visit to the countryside, and take a long-tail boat tour of the Khone Don region, which takes you to the remains of the French period and to the Liphi waterfall or "Devil's Corridor".

We return to the territory of a fishing village of Ban Nakasang and en route south, to visit Khone Phapheng.

Khone Phapheng is considered the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia, which is truly impressive near the Laos - Cambodia border, located in an area teeming with all kinds of wildlife, making this site one of the most impressive destinations in Laos.

Then we will head north to take a boat to the wonderful island of Don Daeng.

Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Don Daeng.

Don Daeng - Free (B/L/D)

After breakfast, the day is at leisure, to relax by the pool or explore the island by bicycle and its charming small villages.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Pakse and to the airport for your departure.
