1
Luang Prabang arrival (D)
Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to the hotel. Luang Prabang has been declared by UNESCO as "The best preserved city in Southeast Asia". The rest of the day is free.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang – city tour – Pak Ou Cave (B/L)
After breakfast, we will enjoy a guided tour.
We will visit the Royal Palace Museum which houses a range of interesting artifacts. Then we will go to see the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping to the ground, which represents classic Laotian architecture.
Next, we will take an upstream cruise on the Mekong, which gives us a panoramic view of the peaceful countryside.
Our first stop is the village of Ban Muangkeo where we will begin a short journey to reach the mysterious Pak Ou Cave, two linked caves where thousands of gold-lacquered Buddha statues of different shapes and sizes, left by pilgrims, are piled up.
En route, we will stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where the local specialty is rice wine. On the way, we will visit Ban Xangkhong, Ban Xienglek and Ban Nong Xai, small villages well known for silk weaving and Saa (jute) for paper making.
Returning to the city of Luang Prabang, we will visit a traditional goldsmith workshop.
Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang – Hmong Experience and Kouang Si Waterfall (B/L)
After breakfast, we will visit the local Phousi market, this is where all the locals come to buy their food. Your guide will show you the various offerings on display.
We will stop at Ock Pop Tock, a silk weaving center. During the guided tour, you will be explained the silk weaving process.
Then, we will drive to Thinkeo, a Hmong village and we will start hiking with the villagers.
Your guide will explain the common use of facilities for the Hmong people. You will go to the garden and cut vegetables and herbs with the local people.
When you arrive at the village, you will learn how to cook some local dishes in a traditional house. Lunch will be the result of your collective efforts!
Then, the villagers will give you a demonstration of Hmong Khène and local games.
In the afternoon, head to Kouang Si and relax by this magnificent multi-tiered waterfall.
We then return by road to Luang Prabang, at the end of the day.

Luang Prabang – Xiengkhouang (B/L/D)
Today, after breakfast, we will drive through the magnificent landscapes of Xiengkhouang. The journey will give you many opportunities to take photos and visit the mountain tribe villages. The region is famous for the Plain of Jars and for its different ethnic groups, including the Hmong.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to visit Plain of Jars Site 1, an impressive archaeological site where hundreds of stone jars are scattered across the plateau.
Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Xiengkhouang.

Xiengkhouang – Plain of Jars and Muang Khoun (B/L/D)
This morning, after breakfast, we have time to visit the interesting Phonsavan Central Market, visit the MAG exhibition and Plain of Jars Site 2 before taking a short scenic walk from Site 3 via the Tai Dam and Lao Leum village.
After lunch we have half a day to visit the ancient capital of Muang Khoun and the nearby villages, home of the Hmong and Tai Dam mountain tribe.
Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Xiengkhouang.

Xiengkhouang – Sam Neua (B/L/D)
Today, after breakfast, the long journey begins early along bumpy roads. The journey is punctuated by stops in nearby Hmong villages and breathtaking landscapes can be admired.
We also have time to visit Hintang. Here, we will see mysterious menhirs. No one is sure who built them, or why, perhaps they are sites or markers of some kind.
We will arrive in Sam Neua in the early evening. Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Sam Neua.

Sam Neua - Viengxai (B/L/D)
Today, after breakfast, we will visit a number of local weaving villages, then we will continue to the famous Viengxai Cave.
This is where the leaders of the Pathet Lao lived during "The Secret War".
After enjoying the many caves, we will return to our accommodation in Sam Neua for the night.
Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Sam Neua.

Sam Neua – Nameo Border Crossing to Vietnam (B)
This morning, after breakfast, we will head to the Vietnamese border at Nameo where our tour ends.
