Chiang Rai - Houeixay (-)
Pick up at the hotel in Chiang Rai around 07:30 AM for transfer to the border crossing Chiang Khong, then cross the Mekong to Houeisay in Laos where the guide awaits you.
After visa formalities, visits: Opium Museum, Lenten village in Ban Nam Chang, Khmou village in Ban Nam Pik, Vat Chom Khao Manilat.
Meals at your own expense, to be arranged on site with our guide. Overnight in Houeixay.

Houeixay / cruise excursion – Pakbeng (B,L)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Meet at 08:00 AM for transfer to the pier and board a private local boat for a cruise on the Mekong towards Pakbeng.
Stop to visit the ethnic minority villages, located along the river: Hmong, Yao and Khmu.
Arrival in Pakbeng, transfer and check-in at a hotel.
Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at your own expense and Overnight in Pakbeng.

Pakbeng – Pak Ou Caves / visits – Luang Prabang (B,L)
Option: Wake up early in the morning to see the long lines of monks leaving their pagodas and coming to receive food offerings from the faithful. A unique spectacle in the country.
Breakfast at the hotel.
A short visit to Wat Xieng Thong, the prettiest temple in the city, then departure for a boat trip on the Mekong to the sacred Pak Ou cave, housing hundreds of gilded wooden Buddha statues.
On the way back we visit the Lu weaving village in Baan Phnom, located on the banks of the Nam Khan river.
Baan Phnom is very renowned for the manufacture of silk skirts (Sin) and for the tomb of the French explorer Henry Mouhot, the first French explorer.
Return to the hotel at the end of the day. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Dinner at your own expense and Overnight at the hotel in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang / city tour and walks (B,L)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Meet at 08:00 AM with the team for a day of visits and walks in the city of Luang Prabang, which is probably the best preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia.
The tranquility and charm of this city with splendid natural landscapes and cultural sites make it one of the most pleasant places to visit in Laos.
After a short rest, we will visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the sanctuaries Wat Aham, Wat Mai and the former Royal Palace converted into a national museum.
Then we will climb to the top of Mount Phousi for a pleasant exploration of the sacred golden stupa then we will enjoy the magnificent sunset over the city and the Mekong.
From there, we will explore the night market where we will certainly find a beautiful collection of textiles handmade by locals and mountain tribes living around Luang Prabang.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Dinner at your own expense and Overnight in Luang Prabang.
