Da Nang (Central) is one of Asia's most attractive tourist destinations in 2017. This coastal city welcomed 6.6 million tourists, one million more than the previous year.

All these small gestures have contributed to shaping the image of a peaceful and hospitable city.
With its beautiful beaches and high-end resorts, Dà Nang is a prime destination for tourists, both Vietnamese and foreign. The APEC Economic Leaders' Week last November was a tremendous opportunity for travel agencies and hotels, who were able to showcase their expertise.
This is what Lê Tan Thanh Tùng, Deputy General Director of Vitours, one of the five tour operators chosen to serve the APEC guests, observed. According to him, if Dà Nang had a shopping mall and night pedestrian streets with gastronomic services and concerts, tourists could stay longer. "Dà Nang should create a large shopping mall for tourists," he said. "This center could, for example, showcase the region's specialties."
Over 2 million foreign tourists in 2017
In 2017, Dà Nang welcomed 6.6 million tourists, including over 2 million foreigners, and generated nearly one billion dollars in revenue. In addition to the APEC Economic Leaders' Week, the city also organized other national and international events, including the 20th Vietnamese Film Festival.
"Dà Nang's tourism sector should make the city a center for conventions and tourism. We could very well combine conferences with visits to World Heritage sites such as the ancient town of Hội An and the Mỹ Sơn sanctuary," explained Nguyễn Xuân Bình, Deputy Director of the Municipal Department of Tourism.
With its modern infrastructure and qualified human resources, Dà Nang seeks to establish itself as a major event hub.
