Benefiting from a privileged location on the South-Central Vietnamese coast, Phu Yen province is nestled halfway between two unmissable coastal destinations: Nha Trang, 3 hours drive to the South, and Quy Nhon, also 3 hours drive to the North. II. Best time to visit Phu Yen

The best time to discover Phu Yen is from January to March, when the climate is pleasant with less rain. You can enjoy the sun and mild temperatures to visit the splendid landscapes of the region.

From April to August, temperatures are higher and humidity is greater. However, rainfall is less frequent than during the monsoon. Sunbathing on the beaches or tasting freshly caught seafood is possible!

On the other hand, avoid planning your stay from September to December because torrential rains can complicate your travels. 2. Ganh Da Dia

Ganh Da Dia, also known as Ghenh Da Dia, is located on a coastline about 40 km from Tuy Hoa. This geological wonder, among the most singular and rare on our planet, dates back to the origins of the Earth. The rock formations are composed of basalt, the result of volcanic activity dating back 200 million years on the Van Hoa plateau.

Seen from above, this rocky outcrop in the ocean stands out with its imposing black columns aligned closely against each other. Their shapes resemble stacked plates, hence the name "Ghenh Da Dia" which means "cliffs with plate-shaped rocks". 

A day trip to Ganh Da Dia promises a grand finale with a breathtaking sunset. The cliffs seem to greet you in a romantic, orange-tinged atmosphere. Standing on the rocks, you can admire the sun slowly disappearing behind the sea with sparkling ripples.

3. Nhan Tower, a vestige of the Champa kingdom

Majestically erected on top of Nhan mountain, Nhan Tower is a historic symbol built in honor of a benevolent fairy of the Cham people. In addition to the breathtaking view it offers of the surrounding region, it also contains archaeological remains dating back to the 12th century Champa civilization.

4. Mang Lang Church and local Catholic history

Built in 1892 by the French missionary Father Joseph Lacassagne, Mang Lang Church is one of the oldest Catholic churches in Vietnam. Its unique Gothic architecture with its gray paint covering the entire building has inspired many artists and poets over the years.

But it is especially renowned for having sheltered the blessed André and, more importantly, for still preserving today the book "Catechism divided into eight days", with the Vietnamese translation "Phép giảng tám ngày", the first book in quốc ngữ (the romanized script of the Vietnamese language), printed by the missionary Alexandre de Rhodes in 1651 in Rome.

5. Ong Cop Bridge

Ong Cop Bridge, a majestic wooden structure, stretches over 800 meters, creating a link between the districts of Tuy An and Song Cau over a stretch of sea. Also known as Tuy An Bridge, this bridge is recognized as the longest of its kind in Vietnam.

6. Nghinh Phong Tower

7. Local cuisine with intense flavors

• Mam Ca Com

Among the hundreds of herbs, spices, and condiments that make up Vietnamese gastronomy, fish sauce made from salted anchovies holds a special place. And it is in Phu Yen that the most delicious in the country is made: Mam Ca Com. 

From the first months of the year, local fishermen catch anchovies which they salt and pack into large wooden chests. IV. How to get to Phu Yen?

1. By plane

The aerial gateway to Phu Yen, Tuy Hoa Airport is located 7 km south of the city center, across the river. Daily flights connect the province to major Vietnamese cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

2. By train

For an immersion in the enchanting landscapes of central Vietnam, what better than the train!

Take the famous North-South line which stops at Tuy Hoa, offering direct access to Phu Yen from cities such as Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi. The journey takes about 11 hours from Saigon and 13 hours from Hanoi. Choose a sleeper for more comfort and wake up fresh and rested after a restorative night's sleep.

3. By bus

To reach Tuy Hoa and the rest of Phu Yen province by bus, it's good to know the different bus stations. Tuy Hoa's main station, located in the heart of the city, is the central departure point, but other companies also operate from their own terminals. Buses traveling the North-South route take Route 1A and all stop at Tuy Hoa, about 5 km west of the center. At some stops, you will find xe om drivers ready to take you to your final destination.

To leave Phu Yen by bus, go to the corner of Nguyen Tat Thanh and Tran Phu streets to choose your company from the multitude of departures offered. Adventurers can also try to hail a bus directly on 1A!
